This I Believe

I think this is good exercise for everyone to do every once and awhile. I made a list over a year ago and I decided to revisit it again recently to see what I was thinking about a year ago and see what has changed. Here's what I came up with.

I believe in God.
I believe that all women are beautiful, whether they believe it or not.
I believe that poetry has a way of lighting up the corners of our soul that we think are the loneliest.
I believe that no one is a lost cause.
I believe that God can use all things for good.
I believe that God loves all people unconditionally.
I believe that it is possible to be in love for a lifetime.
I believe that men and women have equal, but different, purposes.
I believe that music is it’s own language that transcends all barriers.
I believe that when we start making children statistics they get left behind.
I believe that some people are harder to love than others, but all people deserve to be loved.
I believe that it is always best to try on clothes before buying them.
I believe that aging is a beautiful thing and that people shouldn’t have to hide it.
I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and the sins of the whole world.
I believe that we cannot know how strong we are until we have been tested to the breaking point.
I believe that there are no obstacles that love cannot transcend.
I believe in angels.
I believe that God has a sense of humor.
I believe that people should never try to get rid of laugh lines, because they are the mark of all the things that make us happiest.
I believe that trust is one of the most precious gifts to give and recieve.
I believe that a little chocolate gives in happiness what it takes away in health.

See the rest of the list after the jump.

I believe that it’s a waste of time to impress people you don’t like anyway.
I believe that I do have a purpose.
I believe that intimacy has nothign to do with clothes being on or off.
I believe that beauty magazines are the worst thing that could happen to women… and I still read them.
I believe that it’s healthy to let everything slide sometimes and do what you want to do and not what you have to do.
I believe some things can’t wait, but other things can.
I believe that people should do what makes them happy.
I believe that the people that matter will always love you.
I believe that debt, emotional, financial, and spiritual, is one of the biggest problems in today’s society.
I believe that I have potential as a writer.
I believe that I would make a good teacher.
I believe that people really want to do what’s right, things just get blurry sometimes.
I believe that things are rarely as important as they seem at the time.
I believe that struggles are given to us to make us stronger.
I believe that we will not be tempted beyond what we can bear.
I believe in strawberries with chocolate.
I believe in not wasting food.
I believe that heaven exists.
I believe in the Creed.
I believe that people judge other people much too quickly.
I believe that it is hard to truly know someone.
I believe that it is the supreme act of trust to share your interior self with someone else.
I believe that it is always better to cry on someone than to cry alone.
I believe that people can change.
I believe that theater is worthwhile.
I believe that we should love people for who they are, even when we don’t understand them.
I believe that art is a requirement for a healthy society.
I believe that the media messes with our idea of ourselves and our needs.
I believe in the magic of silence.
I believe that I feel the most at peace with those I love and in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
I believe that it is depressing how it gets dark so early in the winter.
I believe that the supreme challenge of parenting is letting go.
I believe that everyone has potential.
I believe that stories bring people together.
I believe that being a slave to fashion is pathetic.
I believe that people should know themselves and live intelligently based on that knowledge.
I believe in the healing power of forgiveness.
I believe in love before money.
I believe in valuing family, even when it’s hard to love and live with them.
I believe in standing out when you need to.
I believe in knowing your politics.
I believe that prejudice is fear dressed up, trying to be credible.
I believe that group projects screw over smart people.

Peace.
